Who are we?
  • The High School of Jewish Studies, a program of the Agency for Jewish Education, is a community institution that serves 8th through 12th grade students.
  • We meet on two different sites, San Diego Jewish Academy in North County and Temple Emanu-El in East County.
  • The HSJS committee is composed of AJE board members and parents of current and former students. In order to sustain a partnership with our parent body we encourage parents to join the committee and become advocates for the high School.

Student Council
  • Our student council is composed of student representatiaves from each grade. Students work together with faculty advisors to create social opportunities such as:
  • Retreats, Class trips, and Special programs

  • Photography...using the camera's lens to make Jewish memories
  • Artistic Expressions in Judaism...a hands on class focused on making Jewish ritual objects
  • Rosh Hodesh: It's a Girls's Thing
  • 12th Grade Seminar
