About the Library

The Pedagogic Internet library is designed to aid our patrons in locating materials needed during times when the library is not open. Be sure to check back often as we add new materials weekly. If there is a specific book, video or educational material that you need, feel free to contact Marcia Wollner at 858-268-9200 ext. 123 for assistance.

Borrowing Privileges
Books may be borrowed from the Agency for Jewish Education's Library by: educators from area preschools, day schools and supplementary schools
principals and rabbis from area schools and synagogues
parents, students and the general public. There is a $25 deposit for all people to check out materials. If you plan to use our Library often we recommend that you leave a check on file with us.

Checking Out Books
Borrowers may check out up to ten materials. Books, videos, bulletin boards, educational games and kitsare available for two weeks.The borrower is responsible for returning the material in good condition on or before the due date stamped in the book. Unless the book has been requested by another borrower, it may be renewed. Renewals may be done at the Agency for Jewish Education or by phone.

Fines
Circulating materials that are not returned on time are subject to overdue fines. Fines are $.25 per day per item. Additional materials may not be borrowed before all overdue materials are returned and fines are paid.
Non-Circulating Material
Books and other materials from the reference collections and specially designated collections do not circulate.In addition, books in poor condition may be judged by the circulation staff to be too fragile to borrow. Non-circulating materials may be used inside the library.
Video
The video collection includes feature films with Jewish and Israeli themes, videotaped lectures, documentaries, educational videos, films on holiday themes as well as childrens' videos. All videos are available to be checked out for one week.
